Lost Planet 2 on PC, Starting October 15

August 17, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Calcom has officially announced that the PC version of Lost Planet 2 will be released on October 15. To enjoy the game you are recommended to have an Intel Core2 Quad or AMD Phenom x4 processor. NVIDIA GeForce 9800 or ATI Radeon HD4800 graphics card is also required, along with either 2GB RAM on Windows XP or 3GB RAM on Windows Vista. It supports Windows 7 as well.

The console version of the game was released in May on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game had sales of up to 1.5 million units globally during a three month period, but during that period Calcom’s net income had plummeted which made Calcom say that the game had “substantially underperformed” on console. The new version has been re-envisioned as a four-man multiplayer adventure in a variety of climates. Being able to experience the intensity and chaos alongside three friends, offline or online, should help Lost Planet 2 to be one of 2010’s most desirable shooters.

From hideous, giant-train-munching sandworms to monstrous tentacled creatures from the deep, you will truly appreciate the craft that’s gone into the game. The game, which supports DirectX 11 and NVIDIA 3D Vision, can be checked out at the NVIDIA website. A preview of the PC version is available on the site.
