Huawei’s upcoming eReader –  the Huawei T62W – has made an appearance on the FCC listings. The device, when it arrives in stores near you, would be Huawei’s first ever eReader and significant would be the fact that the company would make a foray into the already crowded eReader market.

There is not much data available on the features of the device, but we get a few details when going through the user manual and the FCC report. The T62W will be equipped with a 6-inch e-Ink touchscreen and features 3G support on WCDMA networks. It also comes with 802.11 b/g WiFi and Bluetooth. It also has a slot for a microSDHC card supporting 32GB, as well as a SIM card slot. There is no word on the ebook format support or how much of resolution it will provide, nothing on the operating system as well. There is a chance that it can be Android running, but one of the disassembly photos shows Windows CE 6.0.

There is also news that the device will purchase material from an ebooks’ Shop and will support emagazines through an eKiosk application. FCC documents reveal that the device can connect to an eBooks store based in Europe. But Huawei’s effort to get the T62W cleared by the FCC definitely suggests that we may see the device in the US.
