Google Chrome to Phone extension now official

Chrome to Phone was one of the features highlighted in the Froyo presentation at the Google I/O 2010 conference earlier this year. The feature has been under development for quite some time and is now available through Android Market.

The Chrome to Phone features comes in two parts. One is a software that runs on your Android phone while the other is an extension for the Google Chrome browser. When preoperly synced and set up, you just have to click a button in the browser to instantly push that page on to your device and have it open in the phone browser. It also detects special URLs such as those of Youtube or Google Maps and launches the corresponding application on the phone. Text selected on a site can also be pushed to the Android clipboard.

The app is now available from the Android Market ( in English only ), for devices running Android 2.2 Froyo. Also check out the video below:
