Finally after all that waiting, those of you who have been longing to get a hold of that awesome device that has been starring in “leaks” for quite some time now, can have it! The Droid 2 has finally gone on sale on Verizon as of today. The new QWERTY superphone from Verizon and Motorola has been getting a lot of attention recently even without the device being officially confirmed.

The Droid 2 will come installed with Android 2.2 Froyo, which is the latest version of Android from Google, packing some pretty awesome features such as a JIT compiler, Mobile Hotspot and Adobe Flash support. It packs a 3.7 inch WVGA touchscreen and a 1GHz SnapDragon Texas Instruments’ OMAP 3630 1GHz processor . You can head over to Verizon right now to check it out.

And in the meantime, those of you running the original Droid can now get your software updated to Froyo as the OTA update is now ready. Sprint and HTC have sanctioned an update for the Evo 4G to fix the issues from the earlier 3.26.562.3 build. The new build version is 3.26.562.6.
