Pioneer’s 11.6 inch Atom DreamBook Windows 7 tablet Announced

Pioneer Computers has made official their new DreamBook ePad tablet, which is set to launch in Australia later this year. The DreamBook ePad L11 HD is the latest in the Pioneer’s slate tablet series which include the A7 and A10 models. The new ePad will be powered by a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor on Intel’s NM10 chipset, and runs Windows 7 operating system.

The device features an LED backlit 11.6 capacitive touchscreen display, having a resolution of 1366 x 768. It comes either with integrated graphics preinstalled or you can opt for NVIDIA ION2 GT218M graphics with up to 512MB onboard memory, including a full 1080p HD Video Accelerator. It has a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera and a microSD card reader. There is also an optional GPS via a mini PCI interface.

The ePad tablet comes with 2GB DDR2 RAM and up to 64GB of storage, but will be available also in 16GB or 32GB solid state storage capacities. It comes equipped with 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR and optional 3G wireless connectivity, along with two USB ports and an HDMI output. Inside the slim 0.55 inch body includes two 1.5W speakers, and it has a 3-axis G-sensor and ambient light sensor. The 4,800mAh battery that comes with the tablet has an estimated life of 6 hours in between charges. The Pioneer ePad L11 HD is expected to be available in September, for a price of AUD699 (about US$642).
