Batman Arkham City Scheduled For 2011 Release Date

August 5, 2010, By Christian Davis

The first thing that comes to everyones mind when they hear the word Batman is the game Arkham Asylum. The best superhero game of all time now has it’s sequel, titled Arkham City. With about a dozen domain names for the game released on the internet, the game has been in constant discussion amongst gamers and comic book fans alike.

The image above is the cover for the latest Game Informer Magazine(#209). A classy, noir style image really gives us an idea to the tone of the game. It would be great to see portions of the game in this black and white hue through the use of flashbacks or some nicely stylized cinematics. Two other villains are also shown with the new Arkham City images; Cat-Woman and a very patriotic Two-Face.

It appears that Cat-Woman is a nuisance to our favorite caped crusader and she will be getting him into trouble and keeping her out of it. She will probably play a big role in the game, but the idea of a co-op mission should be out of the question. This game works well with single player and should not be changed at all. Cat-Woman could potentially play a love interest to Batman which would lead to some very tense moments. Since RockSteady, the game’s developers,  is going for a darker type of game, she could potentially die as well.

The game is set to release in the Fall of 2011 and is no doubt one of the highly anticipated games of the upcoming year.
