Various images of the LTE USB modem manufactured by LG for Verizon Wireless, which offers internet connectivity through the carrier’s 4G network, have been leaked online. The device was earlier reported to have been approved by the FCC and is now being said to be in the testing phase.

The modem, which has been codenamed VL600, contains Verizon’s 4G SIM card packed inside it that connects to the carrier’s LTE-based network. The device also offers support for EVDO-based 3G through the 1900 MHz and 800 MHz bands, other than the 700 MHz band for accessing the 4G network.

Though the design of the device looks to be slightly bulky in nature, its size could get gradually reduced with various improved versions, as it so often happens with most gadgets nowadays.

Verizon has not yet announced an official launch date for the VL600 modem, but it has been reported, on the basis of the leaked pictures, that the device could become available for sale before 2011.
