A leaked specifications sheet for the high-end Galaxy Q smartphone due to be released from Samsung’s stables has revealed several details about the handset, including the presence of a physical QWERTY keyboard and Android 2.2 Froyo as the operating software during launch.

The phone is said to be a smaller version of Samsung’s latest Galaxy S smartphone, with a 3-inch screen and 720×480 Super AMOLED display as compared to the Galaxy S’ 4-inch display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels.

The device will be equipped with 3G, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi b/g/n connectivity and its functions will be powered by the same 1 GHz Hummingbird processor that is present in the Galaxy S smartphone series.

The QWERTY keypad will be accompanied by an optical touchpad and the device will also feature two cameras. The 8 megapixel camera in the back of the phone will be capable of shooting high-definition video and will also have an LED flash for company. The 1.3 megapixel camera in the front will allow for video chatting and conferencing. The mini HDMI port said to be present in the device will allow for HD videos to be viewed on an external display unit.

The internal memory of the device will have a capacity of 16 GB while external microSD memory cards up to a capacity of 32 GB can also be accommodated in the phone.

With such specifications, the Galaxy Q seems to be ready to join the Epic 4G and the Droid 2 in the lineup of high-end smartphones with QWERTY keyboards.
