Having just updated their iMac line, Apple are continuing to prove some rumors that have been roaming around the Internet lately, this time related to their Mac Pro line of high-end computers. They’ve just given the line a nice “little” overhaul, packing them with even more powerful hardware for your extreme processing needs.

The Mac Pro line now features a setup with two processors with a total of up to 12 processing cores, powered by Intel’s Xeon chip family. Of course, having such power at your disposal is never cheap, especially when it comes to a product by Apple – the starting price for the 12-core model has been set at $4,999. If you’re looking for something slightly more budget-friendly, you can get a quad-core version for $2,499, or an 8-core one for $3,4999.

The video cards have been upgraded as well, and the machines now feature ATI’s Radeon HD 5770 by default, plus several options for more powerful versions such as the HD 5870 with 1 GB of RAM. And in terms of system RAM, you have teh option of getting up to 32 GB of it – should be enough for most needs, we think. For storage, the best you can vouch for are 4 whole TB of space.
