Various pictures of a mystery HTC phone running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 as the operating software, have been leaked on to the internet by an anonymous source. However, the device seems to be missing HTC’s Sense UI though the handset manufacturer had said that it would include its user interface on its WP7-enabled phones.

The leaked HTC phone has been reported to feature high-end smartphone hardware including a processor capable of clocking 1 GHz and an 8 megapixel camera. The device has a 3.7-inch Sony Super LCD screen, which replaces the AMOLED screens that are currently in short supply.

The design of the phone is only slightly different from other HTC handsets, but it does feature touch-sensitive buttons below the display that are specific to the Windows Phone 7 OS.

Though the market name of the phone is not yet known, it is rumored to be the HTC Spark, which was earlier said to be headed for Verizon. The launch date for the device is also rumored to be in the fall season as HTC has already declared itself to be one of the launch partners for the Windows Phone 7 platform.
