Acer Stream Comes to Expansys Only on August 9th, Running on Android

Acer have a new Android-powered phone all lined up and ready for release, called the Stream, and we heard about it a while back in May. A bit later the device was showcased for the first time in June, but it’s just now that we’re finding out its actual release date – Acer have stated that the Stream is coming out on the market on August 9th, and for the time being, it will only be offered by the UK carrier Expansys.

If you haven’t been following the development around the phone, it’ll feature a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.7″ AMOLED screen for your viewing pleasure, as well as Android 2.1 as its operating system. It will also offer a 5 megapixel camera that can record 720p video, and an HDMI port.

The bad thing about the phone being exclusive for one carrier is that it won’t come with any good offers on the price – and the expected price tag is around $600, which makes it quite the hefty choice – but it definitely looks like it will be worth every cent, so keep an eye out.
