Samsung Galaxy S Review a la Mosberg; He Likes It!

July 22, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The Samsung Galaxy S smartphone may be winning hearts by the minute but winning Wall Street Journal’s principal technology journalist and die-hard iPhone fanatic Walter Mosberg’s heart is certainly an achievement worth writing home about.

Mosberg’s review of the two variants of the Galaxy S on the AT&T and T-Mobile networks, called Captivate and Vibrant respectively, which was posted in his column on the All Things Digital site, has revealed that he actually likes the phone.

Though Mosberg’s inner iPhone fanboy reared its head throughout the article, stating that the Galaxy S does not contain all the features present in the iPhone 4, he does mention towards the end of his review that “the Galaxy S is an appealing alternative for the iPhone” for consumers who prefer Android.

He has also admitted the rising popularity of Android phones, which he refers to as “handheld computers” in his review.

Mosberg has also labeled the Samsung Galaxy S phones as “impressive” devices that are worthy Android-based competitors to the iPhone. The article may include comparisons of various features of the Galaxy S with the Apple smartphone but on the whole, Mosberg seems to approve of the new Samsung device, which is a rarity for most phones in his world.
