Motorola Droid 2 to Run Android 2.2 on Release Date

July 21, 2010, By Alex Ion

After leaks and leaks, one can say that we know almost all there is to know about the Droid 2. Not really folks, as we’re hearing that the sleek new mobile is actually going to run Android 2.2 off the box on launch date.

The rumor has been spread on DroidLife — and we have this screenshot to prove it — who said that they got a tipster that spent some time with the Motorola Droid 2. Other than running the latest iteration of Android, Froyo, the new device is said to be “noticeably more responsive” than the original Droid and its keyboard is “phenomenal”.

Another interesting thing is that the Droid 2 will have the same Moto Blur skin that the Droid X has, and only 5 screens (that match the Froyo launcher).

And all these make us wonder : why couldn’t Moto add an HDMI port to all these goodies?

Release date is expected for August 12, so better have your green prepared for when this baby kicks in.
