Droid X Screen Issues Confirmed by Verizon; Only a Few Handsets Affected

July 21, 2010, By Alex Ion

In a statement today, Verizon Wireless has acknowledged that some of Motorola’s latest Droid X mobile phone, has display issues. Of course we all knew that, but according to Big Red only a few handset owners are being affected by the flickering screens– some one-tenth of one percent.

“Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless.”

That sounds a bit different than what Apple did with their iPhone 4 antenna problems. They first told their customers unofficially they are holding the phone wrong, then took a long 3 weeks to have a press conference where they acknowledged the design flaw and now they give out cases that ruin the whole “magnificent design”.

Not sure about you, but probably a lot of users will stick to Verizon and Motorola for coming out with solutions.
