Activision’s Call of Duty Franchise Paid Membership Plan Spotted?

July 19, 2010, By Christian Davis

What company this year has easily had the most controversy? Yes, it has been Activision. Their CEO has been called some unkind words, huge lawsuit with ex-Infinity Ward heads, and now we have this unbelievable sight. It’s been rumored for a while that a paid membership is in the works for our beloved Modern Warfare 2 and other Call of Duty titles. These rumors unfortunately, may be true.

A video from 360 Junkies shows the paid membership screen prompting the player. In the video clip’s description, a player was trying to join a friend’s game in progress and was shown something that is unbelievable terrible. A screen saying “No memberships are available at this time. Please try again later,” under a Modern Warfare 2 Memberships heading.

If this is true, you can believe that Call of Duty will become one of the least played games on the Xbox 360. There is no idea as to how much it would costs, but don’t be surprised if you see something around $10 per month.
