Apple is all set to launch a new version of its MacBook Air and iPod Touch devices in the second half of 2010, according to DigiTimes analyst Mingchi Kuo. He has also mentioned that the manufacturer of both the devices will be Taiwan-based Quanta Computer Inc.

Kuo has said that on the basis of his discussions with several component makers, the new MackBook air will have a screen size of 11.6 inches and a low voltage processor belonging to Intel’s Core i-series. The laptop will also be designed to be extremely light and slim compared to its previous models and Apple will ship 400,000 units of the device this year.

His predicted specifications for the new iPod Touch device include a camera of 3 megapixel count for taking pictures as well as recording videos.  The possibility of a camera being present on the new iPod Touch has been rumored since the leak of Apple’s iOS4 code. The gadget will also be powered by the same A4 processor that is present in the iPhone 4 smartphone.

Kuo said that around 17-18 million units of the new iPod Touch would be shipped in 2010 after it becomes available for sale by the month of August or September.
