Xbox 360 Getting a New Dashboard Design in November?

July 15, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

Those of you who’re using an Xbox 360 as their console of choice (or one of their choices) will probably be delighted to hear that the dashboard (the user interface for the console) will probably be getting a visual (and functional) update sometime in November, to coincide with the launch of the new Xbox Live Gold Family plan.

For those of you who haven’t been staying in touch, the new Family plan is aimed at 4-member families, and will offer the possibility of getting four 1-year Xbox Live gold accounts for a total of $100, plus a new Family Center on the dashboard. There will also be some extra parental controls and locks to prevent inappropriate content from being displayed.

The information comes from a series of pictures that were relased to the Internet about a day ago, which show the new dashboard in action, and the images are coming straight from Microsoft from what it seems. Other changes we can see include some smaller text used for the menu options, as well as a new way of presenting the sub menu.
