The world of technology is a crazy place where one amazingly large group of people eagerly keeps waiting for a software update, while the others get it without even asking for it. Amongst the Android lovers, it is only the Nexus One owners who have been blessed with the Android Froyo 2.2 goodness while the others have still been kept waiting, anticipating an OTA update.

Then comes a group of people (we’ve come to love of late) dubbed the xda-developers who have been throwing out ROMs with all the Froyo and Android Eclair blessings and they have even managed to throw the Sense UI in the mix.

Call it unfair or undeserved, but the fact remains that people who have bought Android powered devices through the proper channels do not have a choice other than waiting. The sad part is that they do not even know why they have been made to wait for an unnecessarily long duration.

The xda-developer option might not bring Android 2.1 or 2.2 to the table at its ‘fullest’ best, but at least it is good enough to deliver what the Android users have been craving for long. If a Windows Mobile OS laden device can run these Android versions through an uncanny medium, why not the conventional ones?
