The Worldwide Partner Conference 2010 was a fruitful one for the Windows Seven Service Pack One hopefuls as Microsoft finally announced the availability of the SP1 Beta at the event. The current beta update version includes the previous updates for Windows, Windows 7 as well as updates for the Windows Server 2008 R2 platform.

The customers seeking the Service Pack One update should however ensure that they are using the RTM version of either OS, as the update only caters to this specific set. Also, this update is not available for people who are using the Home version of Windows 7 or Server 2008.

The entire details of the changes that the update brings in are not yet available, but what is known (see image) is that the SP1 will bring in minor changes to the operating system.

As far as Server 2008 R2 users are concerned, they should look for the addition of RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory. Understandably, your operating system will not undergo the entire changes which the SP1 is suppose to take care of as it is a beta version, but the appreciable fact is that it has finally arrived. We hope that we will not have to wait long for the full version Windows 7 SP1 to arrive.
