BlackBerry 6.0 OS Shown in New Official Teaser Video

BlackBerry makers RIM have released a new teaser video for the newest version of their operating software, BlackBerry 6.0. The video, which appears on YouTube, shows some of the main features of the software that were not displayed in the first demo video shown at the WES 2010 event earlier this year.

The BlackBerry 6 is shown to offer multiple home screens on devices as well as a new fluid interface with multi-touch support. It also displays features such as support for RSS feeds in the WebKit-based browser, which is also a new feature in the OS. The virtual keyboard is shown to have a new design and the universal search is also available in the BlackBerry 6 OS.

Social network integration is also present on the software, which will make it easier for users to receive and post status updates on their favorite social networks including Facebook and Twitter.

However, the video shows the OS as likely to be exclusive to touch-only devices and not a part of the QWERTY handsets that were made popular by the company. It has been rumored that the latest Blackberry OS will first become available on the BlackBerry 9800 touchscreen slider phones and the teaser video also states that the new OS is “coming soon”.
