Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and EOS Rebel T2i/550D Digital SLR Cameras Get Firmware v1.0.8 Update

July 8, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

If you haven’t heard as yet, here goes. Canon’s EOS-1D Mark IV and EOS Rebel T2i/550D digital SLR cameras have been provided firmware updates. The move comes close on the heels of reports that there existed a bug  in the move mode of the cams. Canon has called it Firmware v1.0.8 and has been updated in both the SLRs.

We are also told that the firmware update isn’t just to correct the bug in the movie mode. It has been found that the language menus in French and Spanish had some spelling errors. Canon hopes to correct the errors with the same firmware update.

We just wonder if we should be asking you to go for it. If you do have a serious personal issue with the way the two Canon cams work, we guess you may not be averse to spending some time to take the trouble. We tell you this because the update doesn’t give you anything more than that.  So if you are really keen, the Firmware v1.0.8  is available download here.
