Verizon Motorola Droid X Pre-Orders Shipped Before the Official July 15 Release

July 7, 2010, By Atul Roach

The upgraded cousin of the Motorola Droid, the Droid X is slated for a release at the Big Red stores on July 15, but interestingly a few of the lucky customers have already received the handset and those lucky few are left with no choice but to celebrate the early arrival.

Given the spec sheet this phone comes with, the experts are excited about this Verizon locked device as they believe it could pose a serious threat to the AT&T branded iPhone 4. The smartphone that currently stages Android Eclair will better compete with the Apple device when the Froyo and the Adobe Flash 10.1 support upgrades arrive for it later in the summer.

Talking about the difference between the two smartphone manufacturing companies, Apple takes great pride in shipping its pre-ordered products on time (precisely) as it did with its iPad, while Motorola has apparently made a blunder even in this case by surprising the customers with an untimely delivery.

With July 15 almost a week away, the phone arriving with the customers before time could be because of some delivery companies fault as well. Anyway, the lucky ones to have got it, should enjoy the ‘air of exclusivity’ for a week after which a whole lot more of Big Red users will be seen flaunting this chic thingamajig.
