RIM has announced that the official Twitter app for BlackBerry OS devices has finally come out of beta. The application has been in an open beta stage since April to gather community feedback. The launch version of the Twitter app includes several user-requested tweaks, fixes and feature additions. Today’s 1.0 release mainly adds support for more languages, including: Portuguese, Japanese, Indonesian, Russian, Turkish, Dutch, and Korean.

The twitter app comes with standard necessary features such as posting, sending, deleting replying and retweeting tweets, push notification for direct messages, tweet photos/links, trending topics, url shortening and auto update. The app is also seamlessly integrated into core BlackBerry applications.

An added feature in the launch version of the app is the improved profile search, which according to RIM, can be accessed from anywhere within the application. The search also has an auto-complete feature to help find information about the people the user is following. Other new features added during the beta includes Quote Tweets for editing retweets, hotkeys for navigation, Personal Info Guard, Spam Reporting, and viewing of photos from Yfrog and Tweetphoto.
