July 7, 2010, By Thomas Antony

Best But has quietly launched its Best Buy Connect wireless broadband service, offering a series of both contract and non-contract mobile broadband plans. Best Buy has put up a website where all the new plans have been detailed.

Data prices on the new 3G wireless broadband service is similar to those on other carriers with prices starting at $29.99 per month for 250MB of data, to $59.99 for 5GB of data per month on no contract. The contract plans also have the same rates, except that they start at $39.99 for 500MB per month. The advantage of the contract plans is the subsidies they offer. When you opt for a contract Best Buy Connect plan, you get discounts of upto $275 in a compatible laptop of your choice ( from Best Buy ).

Despite early rumors of a 4G WiMAX option, it doesn’t appear that those plans will be available at launch. According to the Best Buy press release the service officially launches on Sunday, July 11 — and it’s powered by Sprint’s network.
