Cisco Systems had become the latest company to enter the tablet PC market by announcing a 7-inch tablet PC called Cius, which is aimed at business consumers. The business tablet will capable of streaming HD video and will run on Google’s Android operating software.

The functions of the Cius tablet will be powered by a 1.6 GHz Atom processor from Intel that will be present within the device. It will be fitted with a 5 megapixel camera in the back that is capable of recording videos at 720p resolution. The device will also feature a VGA camera in its front for video calling. Video conferencing will also be possible through the device owing to the presence of Cisco’s Telepresence system.

Cius users will be able to access the internet using 3G and WiFi 802.11b/g/n present in the tablet. An HD DisplayPort as well as USB ports will also be a part of the device. The tablet will be a lightweight device, weighing 1.15 pounds, and an office phone dock will also be available separately with it as an optional purchase.

Though the specific pricing for the Cius tablet has not been announced, Cisco has revealed that the device will be priced less than $1000 when in releases in 2011. However, enterprise users and businesses could be the only ones getting their hands on this tablet as Cisco might not make it directly available for the consumer.
