Samsung has announced that all the smartphone models in its Galaxy S range including the Epic 4G, Captivate, Fascinate and Vibrant will receive an update for the Android 2.2 operating software. The announcement was made by the company’s official page on the microblogging site Twitter.

Samsung’s Galaxy S phones will also receive support for Adobe Flash 10.1 along with the Android 2.2 Froyo update. However, the phones have also been announced to be running on version 2.1 of the Android OS during their launch.

The phones in the Galaxy S range have been scheduled to release through different carriers. The Fascinate will release on Verizon’s network and the Vibrant will be available through T-Mobile, while AT&T will launch the Captivate on its network. The only smartphone model in the Galaxy S range capable of connecting to the 4G network, the Epic 4G, will be launched on Sprint’s network.

However, Samsung has not revealed the time frame during which the Android 2.2 update will become available for the Galaxy S smartphones.
