Google Coming Out With Their Own Social Networking Service, “Google Me”?

June 28, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

Some weird rumors have been going around the Internet lately – for example, news of a possible Google-developed “Facebook killer” service have just emerged, citing “Google Me” as the name of the upcoming project.

It’s not like it will be the first time Google have tried to get into the social networking game – most of you probably remember Google Buzz which was aimed at the same goal, but didn’t manage to score much success, mostly due to privacy concerns.

One thing to consider here is how much Google actually already know about all of us – if you just think about your searching habits and how much they’re revealing about your personality, you can easily see the big picture and how a more socially-integrated Google may sound a bit odd, even scary to some – but we’ll see how things play out in the long run. We hope that they manage to get their privacy issues in line this time though – the last thing we need is another Facebook.
