Motorola Droid X up for preorder at Best Buy

After being revealed last week, the Droid X is probably turning out to be the most badass Android phone out yet. While you can’t get one till July 15th, you can get one lined up for you right away at no cost up front. Best Buy has started taking pre-orders for the Motorola Droid X, so that you can pick up your shiny new Android superphone on 15th.

The Droid X is the latest offering from Motorola, Google and Verizon. It features Android 2.1 OS with an update to 2.2 coming up in “late summer”. And from, the first impressions, its one awesome phone. Its 4.3 inch WVGA 480 x 854-pixel screen is super sharp and is also larger than the iPhone 4’s display. Under the hood is a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM along with 8GB of internal storage. Storage capacity can be expanded using a microSD card and the phone will come preloaded with a 16 GB card.

Droid X is not short on connectivity options either. There are miniUSB and mini HDMI jacks, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS connectivity. It is also capable of 720p video recording with its 8 megapixel camera ( with dual flash ).

The DROID X is available at Best Buy for $199.99 with 2-year activation, with no mail-in rebate hassle.
