AT&T BlackBerry 9800 Pictures Spotted Online, Release Date Pending

The pictures of a yet-to-be-released Blackberry 9800 slider phone from RIM have been posted online. Though the device’s market name is still unknown, it has been discovered that the phone will be heading to AT&T due to the AT&T logo screen that appears during startup.

The phone is said to be running Blackberry 6 as the operating system, though the device mentions the software to be version 0.9 in its About screen. It is also mentioned on the screen that the phone provides support for 3G bands 1,2, 5 and 6 that will allow the phone to be used for accessing 3G networks in many European countries and Japan.

The carrier logo screen on the phone also states the Blackberry 9800 to be a world phone. The device is revealed to be powered by a 1270 mAh Lithium-Ion battery in the pictures as well. One of the pictures also shows the GPS screen of the device.

The phone has been rumored to contain features such as a 5 megapixel camera along with a flash and a RAM capacity of 512 MB. It will reportedly be launched with an internal storage of 4GB and WiFi as well.However, the release date for the device is yet to be announced.
