The Samsung Galaxy S handset has been shown to score over the HTC Desire in a comparison of the multitouch features of the two phones. A video of the comparison was created and posted on the website Frandroid.

The video shows a person moving his two fingers simultaneously on the screens of both phones in a random manner with varying speed. While the HTC Desire is not able to constantly track both fingers at all times, the Samsung Galaxy S performs this task in a much better manner. The response of the Galaxy S handset’s screen to every movement is much faster and more refined.

The Samsung Galaxy S features an Atmel maXTouch touchscreen controller that controls the multitouch features. The controller is also expensive and is priced at 25 percent of the cost of the entire screen.

The screen of the device has been said to be capable of tracking up to 16 points at the same time. It is said to respond to movements within a period of 7 milliseconds, which is 2 to 3 times quicker than the response time of other displays. The Samsung Galaxy S also features Super AMOLED which makes it easier to view content on the device in broad daylight.
