HTC will make a white colored model of the EVO 4G handset available through Best Buy stores from July 11 onwards, according to various online reports and a leaked image of a Best Buy circular. It is also being speculated that pre-ordering for the white HTC EVO 4G will begin today.

The white EVO 4G device will be available exclusively through Best Buy till August. The handset will be sold at the same price as the ordinary HTC EVO 4G which is priced at $199 along with a 2-year 4G contract from Sprint.

HTC and Sprint, which is the carrier for the HTC EVO 4G, expect the white colored model of the handset to benefit from the shortage in availability of the white iPhone 4G handset. However, it remains to be seen if prospective iPhone customers will actually shift preferences to the white HTC EVO 4G phone.

The HTC EVO 4G handset runs on the Android 2.1 OS and can download data using 4G and 3G on Sprint’s WiMax and 3G network. It is equipped with a front-facing camera as well as an 8-megapixel camera in the back that is capable of recording videos in 720p resolution. It has a 4.3-inch display and contains a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor as well. It also allows for viewing HD videos on an external display unit using an HDMI cable.
