Verizon FiOS goes contract-free with no price-hike

Verizon’s FiOS service is the only provider out there which offers broadband connectivity through 100% fibre optics all the way to your home. As of Monday, Verizon has started offering its FiOS connectivity bundles on a monthly bases, without any associated contract, keeping the prices at the current levels. The new bundle includes fiber optic broadband internet connectivity, TV and VoIP calling functions. Verizon did offer non-contract bundles earlier, but they were priced $20 above the contract-deals.

The current rates call for $100 per month and price protection for one year. There is still an offer for you to take up a one-year contract to get that bumped down to $90 per month. This offer comes with a catch in the form of an early-termination fee.

The base FiOS package includes broadband internet connectivity at up to 15Mbps download speeds and 5Mbps upload speeds, access to more than 225 TV channels and over 40 HD channels, and a phone line with unlimited nationwide calling. The offer is available in all markets where FiOS is offered and in FiOS markets in Indiana, Oregon, South Carolina and Washington that are being transitioned to Frontier Communications. Verizon initially trialed this program in Florida and Pennsylvania. After the trial exceeded its expectations, the company decided to go national with it.
