Facebook Made Almost $800 Million In 2009, Reports Indicate

June 21, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

Just until recently, Facebook was complaining about how unprofitable their business is, and how much money they’re losing running it. After turning things around for a few months/years, it appears they’ve climbed out of that hole and are now making steady progress – and revenue.

According to a media report, the company managed to reak in a whole $800 million during 2009, which is about $100 million over the predicted estimates. This was reported by Reuters, though they couldn’t point out their concrete sources – but according to them, Facebook’s net profits have been in the tens of millions range.

Of course, all of this information is just speculative, since Facebook is a private company and this frees them from any obligations on revealing their detailed financial figures. However, the estimates are pretty close to the real deal, if you consider how they’ve been calculated – so we’re inclined to believe them.

All Facebook needs to do now is get their things straight with their privacy issues, and they’ll be an actually good service.
