Verizon Motorola Droid 2 Release Date is June 23? “Next Generation of Droid” Coming Next Week

June 15, 2010, By Alex Ion

Some eight months after being released on the market, the Motorola Droid will be finally upgraded. According to Verizon Wireless on June 23 the company will unleash the “next generation of Droid”, and if we’re to speculate, that means that the new Motorola Droid 2 (or maybe the Droid X) will make its world debut in a week time.

Next gen Motorola Droid invite

While this sounds highly appealing, wait till you hear that Google, Verizon, and Adobe will be on the same stage on June 23 in New York, talking about this mysterious Droid phone.

Speakers include John Stratton, executive vice president and chief marketing office for Verizon Wireless, Andy Rubin, vice president of engineering at Google, Sanjay Jha, co-chief executive officer for Motorola and Shantanu Narayen, chief executive officer for Adobe. So yeah, it sounds heavy.

Could this (and the fact that the Apple Store is acting up on users) be an attempt to get some of today’s iPhone 4 pre-orders canceled? Will the next generation of the Droid by Motorola live up to the hype?
