Archos is well known for their android tablet devices. They have decided to step into the notebook market with their new Archos 13 ultraslim notebook which is powered by a dual-core Intel atom processor. The notebook is very thin and has much more in common with a netbook than a laptop but still supports 720p video due to the 1.66 GHz Intel Atom D510 processor normally found in nettops.

The Archos 13 has a 13-inch 1366×768 LCD display which is a much higher resolution than most netbooks. It has a 1GB of RAM and a 160GB harddisk for storage. The ultraportable will come preinstalled with Windows 7 Home Premium.

It also has Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, WiFi b/g, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and multi-format card reader. In case of I/O options , it has 3 USB 2.0 ports and a VGA-out port. The whole thing is just over an inch in thickness and tips the scales at 3.5 lbs.

Priced at 400 euros, the Archos 13 notebook is now on sale at their French online store. No information is available as of now about any possible release outside of Europe.
