Motorola Droid 2 Picture Leaks; Expected to Arrive on Verizon by July-August

June 9, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Here’s yet another leak for you to chew on. In case you haven’t seen it yet, the Motorola  Droid 2 has been spotted in the wild in the form of a leaked picture. There’s only  one image, but it speaks volumes about the upcoming smart handset. Take a look at the picture alongside, and you will know the Droid 2 would arrive as a sequel to the Motorola device we saw last year on the Verizon network.

Sporting an A955 badge, very typical of what we had been expecting of the Droid 2 to have, the upcoming device looks like a close cousin of the Droid Xtreme. The handset will come boasting of a 4.1-inch screen, 720MHz processor and HD-capable  8 megapixel camera. The leaked image, courtesy of DroidLife, also points to the possibility of the phone’s version of Motoblur being part of the Android user interface. He image shows the phone exhibiting the famed Motorola logo at the top end.

It is being speculated that the Motorola Droid 2 might just come in close on the heels of Droid Xtreme’s debut and that could mean that we might get to have the first taste of the device by around July or August this year.

Keep a watch on Verizon stores where the phone will land as soon as the roll out happens.
