Apple has introduced the new Safari 5, with a promise that it would be faster than Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. The Safari 5 is expected to be outed officially by Apple during the course of the current week. If you haven’t noticed yet, the news safari 5 download link had taken its place on the Apple site soon after Apple boss Steve Jobs ended is keynote at the WWDC10.

However, from what we get to know Apple is offering Safari 5 to developers only for the time being.

What does Apple bring into the new Safari offering, is one question that is being asked at the moment. Apart from quicker functionalities, the new Safari 5 is expected to carry along with it capabilities of added performance to the level of 30 per cent, compared with the Safari 4. Further, the Safari 5 version will also have new features loaded and they will include Safari Reader, Microsoft Bing Search and Extensions. The Extensions, similar to the Firefox add-ons, is expected to allow developers use HTML5, CSS and JavaScript while on Safari 5.  The Reader, in the meanwhile, helps in auto-detecting content within web pages and makes it more presentable and readable in a text-only fashion.  It is being believed that Safari 5 would run JavaScript almost 3 percent faster than Chrome 5.0 and over twice as fast as Firefox 3.6. Doesn’t that sound interesting?
