iPhone 4 Brings New 3.5-inch Display That Rocks, Has IPS technology & 800:1 Contrast Ratio

June 7, 2010, By Alex Ion

For those folks who are not watching our live coverage of the WWDC 2010, the new iPhone 4 is now official, and from what it looks like it’s going to help Cupertino being crowned the kings of smartphones, ONCE AGAIN.

The first thing that got our eye was the sleek design, but it’s more to it. Apparently, there’s a new display, one that really deserves attention. We’re talking about a new 3.5-inch display that does 960 x 640 pixel resolutions, has 800:1 contrast ration (4x better than the 3GS), and IPS technology which Steve thinks is a “bit better than OLED”.

What does that mean for the regular user? The new iPhone 4 is going to render your text and controls in a higher resolution. That means apps will look much better if you put in a bit of effort.

We’re totally stunned by that, how about you folks. How do you like the iPhone 4 by now?
