HTC EVO 4G in Trouble As Data Corruption Bug is Reported

June 4, 2010, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

What’s new with the HTC EVO 4G? The super smartphone has been making waves since the first time the news of its arrival came out. However, the latest is that the phone might come with a serious data bug. This piece of irritating news, and that too, just hours prior to a mega launch, has everything in it to keep HTC running helter-skelter!

The HTC EVO 4G Android super phone would arrive on Sprint in a matter of hours from now, but the bug might take the sheen out of the celebrations that HTC has been planning to have. It is being reported that the phone’s 8GB SanDisk MicroSD card stops working in between and would need a reboot to put it back on track.

The worst part about the bug is that a series of irritants follow making the programs that bank on SD storage to slow down or not work at all.

HTC has not yet found a way to fix the bug, and it seems like the problem lies in the way the MicroSD is seated.

Experts say that this must be a case of the card losing contact with the main board of the EVO. Now that explains the need for a reboot. We are seriously looking forward to seeing HTC go into a firefighting mode
