Acer demos low-end Android handset – the Acer beTouch E120

The Computex not limited to the high flying superphones and tablets. There were also some low-end budget devices unveiled in the expo at Taiwan. One of these was Acer’s beTouch E120 android phone. The phone has a rather small 2.8-inch display and runs on Android 1.6 like its QWERTY touting sibling – the E130.

The E120 is powered by a ST Ericsson 416MHz processor and also comes with a 3 megapixel camera. The touchscreen is of resistive type, possibly to keep the costs in check. The specs and features are nearly the same as the E130 other than the absence of the keyboard and the smaller screen size. This is similar to what Sony did with their Sony Ericsson X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.

It may not be a flying SnapDragon, but if you are coming from a feature phone, it is probably going to be a good affordable upgrade.
