The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide is finally on sale, starting from today, priced at $179.99 with a new two-year contract. The new Android 2.1 smartphone in the myTouch 3G series includes several new features the most significant of which is the addition of the slideout hardware keyboard. It will be available in white, black or red, colors.

The myTouch 3G comes with a 3.4 inch HVGA touchscreen and looks very similar to the original myTouch 3G with similar curves and shape. The phone is much heavier and bulkier and also feels much sturdier thanks to the addition of the hardware keyboard. Other differences from the original includes a set of 4 hardware keys added below the screen and an optical trackpad.

The myTouch 3G Slide packs HTC’s Sense UI for really cool looks and comes with dualband 3G UMTS/HSPA, WiFi b/g, quadband GSM and Bluetooth connectivity. Another addition is the preloaded Swype software which can ease typing on the touchscreen keyboard in case you don’t want to use the physical keyboard for some reason. There is also a “Genius” button which reads out all your SMS messages and makes your phone respond to voice commands. Other features include a 5MP camera with flash, microSD card slot and 3.5 mm audio jack.

The T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide seems to be a solid handset, with some cool features, and most importantly, a hardware keyboard. So if you are on the lookout for a good QWERTY Android smartphone, this is it !
