Onkyo has announced the launch of three receivers as part of the new TX series that features support for connection to iPhone/iPod devices. The receivers called TX-NR1008, TX-NR808 and TX-NR 708 offer support for 3D video as well.

Devices such as the iPhone and iPod can be connected to these receivers through the USB ports in the front side of the devices. They display album art and other content on the screen while navigation through the menu can be done by using the remote that is included in the package. Video content can also be displayed from a PC using any of the three receivers by connecting the PC to the receiver through the analog RGB input present in the devices. They can also be connected with other home networks through an Ethernet port that allows for DLNA streaming and access to other content like Pandora.

The TX-NR1008 features full 9.2 channel audio and the speakers can also be configured in a variety of ways. The TX-NR808 and TX-NR708 have 7.2 channel audio output and can support Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, Audyssey DSX and  Dolby Pro-Logic IIz. They are also capable of providing 9.2 channel audio output though the surround rear channels are changed to extra width or height channels in such cases.

Support for multi-room audio distribution is also present on all three receivers with the TX-NR 708 providing line out for powered Zone 2 and Zone 3 and the TX-NR808 providing Zone 2 and Zone 3 pre-outs along with a powered Zone 2. On the TX-NR1008, users can play 5.1 channel audio in the main room as well as fully-powered stereo audio in each additional zone simultaneously.

The TX-NR708 and the TX-NR808 have been priced at $900 and $1100 respectively and are expected to be available for sale from July onwards whereas the TX-NR1008 priced at $1400 will be on sale from the end of July onwards.
