In exactly a week from now, the VZW Droid Incredible will not be the sexiest fresh arrival in the market. The handset to push the Droid Incredible rage aside will be Sprint’s HTC Evo 4G which is touted to support the uber fast WiMAX a.k.a 4G technology. The news is that Sprint has recommended its preferred retailers to open extra early (probably implies early morning) on June 4 so that a maximum number of people can buy the smartphone on the very first day of its release.

Now folks this is a mere recommendation and it depends on the retailers to oblige or not, but since they belong to the preferred category, they probably will open early morning in a weeks time from now.

The good news doesn’t just end here as Sprint is looking to offer more to its customers at least initially! The touted mobile hotspot functionality which turns your EVO 4G into a WiMax hotspot for a maximum of 8 devices will be rendered free at an initial stage.

The customers will not have to pay $29.99 monthly fee, but they will have to be content with using the function only on 4G and not 3G bands. Sprint will start levying a monthly charge for the function sometime in July as per the official sources.
