McAfee Purchases Trust Digital, Aims at Stronger Mobile Security

May 26, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

McAfee, as a security expert company, have a good overview of consumer needs nowadays. And the trend indicates that more and more people are starting to rely on their handhelds for both their personal and business lives – to such an extent that security in those devices is becoming increasingly important. With this, the company announced that they’re acquiring Trust Digital, as part of their plan for increasing the security in mobile devices.

The tools developed by Trust Digital can work on a wide variety of mobile operating systems, such as the iPhone OS, Android, WebOS, Windows Mobile as well as Symbian. McAfee’s main plans for the time being are to take the Trust Digital Solution, and incorporate it directly into their ePolicy Orchestrator, in order to provide their customers with a powerful enough platform that offers features such as centralization of management, better monitoring features, as well as reports on the usage of the mobile device and its security details.

We definitely agree with their views on security and the increasing need for measures in that department, and are looking forward to their new products.
