HTC ‘Vision’ may finally bring high end QWERTY keyboard salvation to Android

So far almost every top-of-the-end Android smartphone out there, be it the HTC Incredible, the Google Nexus One, the HTC Desire or even the HTC Evo 4G, has lacked one thing that is sought by many. It is a hardware keyboard. The touchscreen keyboard is all good and well, but it doesn’t cut it against a good old physical keyboard. The upcoming mid-range myTouch Slide 3G may have been some compensation but it really is no match to the other Android superphones when it comes to performance. Now a new leaked smartphone, the HTC ‘Vision’ has been spotted in a website’s device profile that may yet provide the answer to this problem.

The HTC Vision would sport a QWERTY keyboard along with a high resolution 800×480 display, possibly matching the Evo 4G in screen size. It will also possibly pack a 5 megapixel camera and at least Android 2.1 or 2.2.

The director of HTC Benelux is on record saying that more android smartphones are on the way. Also leaked were a couple of other names, the HTC Glacier and HTC LED. The latter possibly comes with some super-specced display which rivals that of the Samsung Wave. We will keep up the updates as more details come out.
