A portion of the leaked code for the iPhone OS 4 beta 4 suggests that the upcoming versions of the iPod Touch and the iPad might have an LED flash along with a camera, or that the operating system has been designed by considering the production of such devices in the future.

A flash module has been discovered in the operating software that is applicable for the iPod Touch, iPhone and the iPad. However, the mention of flash in the code may not point to an integrated camera or LED flash being present on the very next versions of the handheld devices from Apple. There is also the lack of actual evidence of a flash being present on the next iPod Touch. But the code does indicate that Apple does intend to integrate flash in its handheld devices in the future.

There have already been many leaks suggesting the presence of a camera on the upcoming edition of the iPod Touch. These include the surfacing of an iPod Touch with a 2 megapixel camera in Vietnam and another iPod Touch appearing in an eBay auction listing.

The leaked code has also led to another discovery. It also refers to the 10.7 version of the Mac OS, indicating that Mac OS 10.7 could be released within the lifetime of the iPhone OS 4, that is said to extend till June 2011.
