After the leak from Vietnam a couple of days ago, Apple’s new refresh of the MacBook has finally been officially confirmed. The new MacBook has started showing up in Apple’s own stores in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany and a few other sites. The new Macbook ( identified as MacBook 7.1 ) has received many upgrades and is priced at $999, and makes it a better deal than the similarly specced 13-inch MacBook Pro currently priced at $1199.

The new MacBook is powered by a much more powerful 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor with NVIDIA GeForce 320M GPU with 256MB of VRAM. The battery life is supposed to be 10 hours ( up from 7 hours in the earlier version ). There is no word on when the new MacBook will actually be released, but its expected to go global shortly.
