Droid Incredible Update: Component Shortages Cause Delays, Verizon CEO Says It Will Outsell Motorola Droid

The POTM (Phone of the Month) that everyone’s been talking about is the Verizon Droid Incredible. It’s been selling out on every shelf it hits in just hours, making it extremely hard to find. Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam was recently interviewed by MSNBC, and had this to say:

“When a shipment gets to a store now, it’s gone in a matter of hours… We’ve had to pull way back … Right now supply is a big problem.

He went on to say that the Droid Incredible would “definitely outsell” the Motorola Droid if it weren’t for the parts shortage, and we’d be willing to bet that once they get the parts supply to meet the demand, we’ll see Verizon’s Droid Incredible outsell Motorola, anyway.

In the first two days after release, Verizon sold 100,000 units, and they’ve since almost exclusively moved to selling them online-

“When a shipment gets to a store now, it’s gone in a matter of hours,” he said. “We’ve had to pull way back … Right now supply is a big problem.”

The Droid Incredible is certainly living up to its name. but will it really outsell the Motorola Froid?
