Archos 7 Home Tablet Pricing and Release Revealed

May 6, 2010, By Radimir Bobev

The Archos 7 Home Tablet went through the FCC a while back, which was a pretty good indication that the device was gearing up for release. Back then, people expected to see it very soon, however it didn’t happen exactly like that – it seems we’ll have to wait a bit to see it on the market.

The tablet has now been officially revealed by Archos, and it will cost $200 – which will pretty much make it the first large-screened Android tablet in that price range. It will cost the same on Amazon, so no differences here this time. Specifications weren’t revealed completely by the press release, but we do know that it has a 7″ touchscreen display running at 800×480, Wi-Fi and USB support as well as Android 1.6

There’s one bad thing to note though – like all the other Android tablets, you’ll not be able to use the Google Market with this one, which means that you’ll have a somewhat limited access to apps. Still, you can download some straight from Archos’s own market, titled AppsLib.
