May 5, 2010, By Alex Ion

Yesterday we found out that Motorola is said to be working hard on a Droid successor, one dubbed Motorola Shadow. Also called the Droid 2, the new device was rumored to feature an 8megapixel camera and 720p video capabilities. Well folks, today we found out a bit more of what the Shadow may bring under the hood.

According to the folks from Phandroid, the new Motorola Shadow will feature a 4.3-inch touchscreen display that does 854 x 480 resolutions, has 512MB of RAM and will work on a TI OMAP 3630 chip that has a PowerVR SGX530 graphics processor. On top of that, if our source is correct and all these specs confirm, when launched this new Motorola Shadow will run on Android 2.1.

Other than the above specs, we’re hearing that the upgraded Motorola Droid will be extremely thin and light ,which is highly appealing. Add to the whole deal Moto Blur with 7 home screens and if all these turn out to be true we’re looking at another hot seller.

No word on which carriers will start selling the Motorola Shadow, but we have a hint that Verizon Wireless will be really interested to bring it to their customers.

Are you guys excited? So are we, but take it with a pinch of salt folks, for now, all these specs are nothing else than rumors.
